Ballet study, Venezuela, and More

In preparation for starting ballet classes next week we did a mini-unit on ballet from Confessions of a Homeschooler. Cricket really loved it.

Cricket is really enjoying her reading, and is almost reading her first easy reader, fat cat. We are still using 1+1+1=1 You Can Read and she's loving all the different learning techniques. I think the playdoh was her favorite though!

We are working our way through Horizons and Cricket is doing really well with it. This week tally marks were introduced, which I never would have thought to do on my own.
Our daily board is also helping with numbers by correlating the different ways a number is written.

Expedition Earth this week was a study of Venezuela. Crickets favorite part by far has been the discovering God's animals supplement. In addition to this work we read and introduced more Spanish words with this book:

Cricket completed the I am an artist poster from Pineapple Paintbrush's class. She really loved the activity and I loved her drawn answers to the different questions. I can't wait to progress with this class.
Cricket continued with her Gymnastics and continues to improve especially with her flexibility.

In the course of using the playdoh for reading we also just played with it and built other skills.

Cricket's writing grip is improving, and I just think her little hand is so adorable.

We also used shaving cream to write letters and numbers, and play!

Thanks for visiting,
